Operation: Find a Kick-ass Chair

by Mandy Weger on November 23, 2010

During one of my many visits to Anthropologie while in college, I saw a super awesome cream and pink paisley armchair.  Since seeing that armchair, I’ve wanted a super awesome, doesn’t-have-to-match-anything-else-in-the-house-because-it’s-so-freakin-beautiful chair.  Unfortunately, that chair was over $1000 and I never had the space for such a chair, even if I did have the dough.

But NOW I have my little nook in the guest bedroom, and I see it as the perfect opportunity to find a ridiculously amazing chair.  I’ve scoured Amazon, Etsy, and Google Shopping for days, trying to find the perfect chair under $300 for the guest bedroom.

Cheapest:

Source; $25.50

Source; $59

Source; $65

Okay, so they aren’t bad.  They’re pretty nice blue chairs, actually.  But they don’t quite meet my “kick-ass” standard, do they?

Moderately Priced:

Source; $169

Source; $175

Source; $295 for a set of 2

This set of two is $295, but they fit into my “moderate” price range if you factor in price-per-chair.

Upper End of my Budget:

Source; $225

Perhaps some red paint for the wood?

Source; $239

Source; $271

Source; $350

Um…$50 over budget, but…omg, it’s AWESOME!

The top contender for me right now is this one:

I think it’s a pretty kickass chair.  It makes me feel like I could read a book  or craft away while sitting in it.  Add a big aqua pillow, and I think it’ll be perfect for the room!

Use your imagination…my photoshop skills aren’t stellar.

And I know right now it looks ridiculous to have bright red in the room, but I promise with other red accents that I bring in, it’ll make sense and look awesome.

That’s what I urgently hope for, anyway!

What chair would you choose?
