Mom & Dad’s Visit to Spain

Mom & Dad’s Visit to Spain

Apologies for my absence last week, but I had a good reason! My parents came to town!!

We were so busy bouncing around and showing them everything we could that I just didn’t have a lot of time to sit down and write.

I have my latest video here to recap Mom & Dad’s visit!

Today, my younger cousin is coming to town and she’ll be with us for a longer stay–nearly 2 weeks with us here at our house, and then I will travel with her to Barcelona for nearly a week before she heads back home. I am nervous because I have never traveled without Mike, but I’m also excited because it gives me the opportunity to prove to myself that I am capable of navigating an unfamiliar city just as well.

I know that I’ll be taking Rachel on quite a few adventures in the coming weeks, but hopefully I’ll have some time to sit and write more since we don’t have to be nearly as fast-paced with all the time we have.

How was your week? Have you ever traveled internationally with your parents? How did it go?

  • I LOVED LOVED LOVED Barcelona!  Make sure to check all the Gaudi stuff like the Sagrada Familia (in active construction for over 100 years, CRAZY!) and Park Guel (though there’s much more).

As for traveling internationally with my parents, we did a tour around Europe (7 countries/14 days) when I was 18, and more recently we did our Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam trip when they came to visit me here in Manila.

It looks like you guys had a great time with your parents!  I’ve traveled once internationally (not counting cruises) with my parents back to my dad’s home country.  It got off to a rocky start, but the rest of the trip was a blast!

  • Love the video as always!

Looks like you had a lot of fun (I am especially envious of mussel picking and churros with chocolate mmm…). I bet Barcelona will be great too; I’ve only heard good things about it.

My parents were just visiting me in Singapore (we went to Malacca and Hong Kong too so were busy) and we traveled around China with them. Occasionally challenging (the heat here was hard for my mom; China is challenging for everybody: crowds, intensity, dirt, cigarette smoke, cheating, lack of English language/signage), but for the most part it’s been really great and a marvelous experience all round.
